“From Place to Place(s)”

What Can We Gain Through Cultural Exchange?

When individuals move to a new place, they bring with them a collection of cultural “seeds” that carry their identity, memories, and experiences from their journey—not just from their original home but from everywhere they’ve been. These seeds influence the new context they enter, adding to the cultural richness of the place, while the new environment also shapes and adapts these seeds.

Yet, even as we share and grow in new contexts, each person has roots deeply planted within them—the memories, traditions, and fundamental aspects of who they are. These roots remind us where we came from and provide an anchor, a point of reference that we often return to, especially when navigating the complexities of a new environment. This shows that while our cultural contributions and identities evolve, the core of our being remains connected to our origins, influencing our actions and perspectives no matter where we are.
